Arrive in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling capital, where modern skyscrapers meet colonial charm and vibrant markets. After settling in and unwinding from your journey, we’ll step out for a relaxed exploration of the city, soaking in its lively streets and culture.
Hotel: Morven Hotel
We’ll spend today exploring Colombo fully, delving into the history and culture. We’ll explore the iconic Gangaramaya Temple and visit the Independence Memorial Hall, a symbol of Sri Lanka’s freedom. Later, we’ll enjoy the coastal breeze at Galle Face Green and wander through the colourful Pettah Market. For those who wish, the day can end at the Lotus Tower with breathtaking views and an evening buffet.

We’ll leave Colombo and head to Sigiriya, where we’ll stay at Sri Lanka’s first women-led hotel. On the way, we’ll visit a village for an immersive experience and a local lunch served on a banana leaf. The visit will include a tractor ride through lush fields followed by a peaceful catamaran boat ride. In the evening, we’ll visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, home to sacred murals and golden Buddha statues inside five atmospheric caves.

Today we have an early start – we’ll climb Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress, a magnificent ancient palace perched atop a giant rock with breathtaking panoramic views. After some downtime, we’ll explore the ruins of Polonnaruwa, a fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site that reveals the grandeur of Sri Lanka’s past.
Hotel: Amba Yaalu
On our way to Kandy, we’ll stop in a rural village to experience traditional Sri Lankan countryside life, complete with a tractor ride and a freshly prepared local lunch. Once in Kandy, we’ll take a stroll around the tranquil Kandy Lake and visit the Gem Museum to discover the island’s rich gemstone heritage.

We’ll begin the day at Amuluwawa Tower, an impressive mountain-top structure offering panoramic views of lush green landscapes. Next, we’ll visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and then wander through the stunning Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, renowned for their vibrant orchids and towering palms.

We’ll make our way to Nuwara Eliya, a charming town often referred to as “Little England” for its colonial architecture and picturesque, mist-covered hills. On the journey, we’ll visit a tea plantation, where you’ll have
the chance to learn about the fascinating process of tea-making – from plucking the leaves to the final brew. To top it off, we’ll savour a cup of freshly brewed tea right at the source, surrounded by breathtaking views of the
rolling tea fields.

We’ll spend the day exploring Nuwara Eliya, a town brimming with charm. Highlights include a visit to the serene Gregory Lake and a local strawberry farm to enjoy fresh treats. For those craving adventure, there’s an optional
trek to Horton Plains National Park and the dramatic World’s End viewpoint.

We’ll board one of the most scenic train rides in the world, travelling to Ella through rolling tea plantations and misty mountains. Upon arrival, we’ll visit the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, nestled amidst lush greenery.

We’ll bid farewell to Ella and make our way to Yala, a National Park known for its incredible wildlife. Once we arrive, you’ll have time to relax in preparation for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

We’ll start the day with an early morning safari in Yala National Park, giving us the best chance to spot iconic wildlife like leopards, elephants, and sloth bears. Afterward, we’ll visit the bird park in Hambantota.

We’ll journey to Galle and explore the historic Galle Fort with its iconic lighthouse and colonial charm. Afterward, we’ll continue to Hikkaduwa for coastal relaxation.

We’ll begin with a dolphin-watching excursion. Optional activities include a visit to a turtle hatchery or a trip to Coconut Tree Hill in Mirissa.

We’ll enjoy a peaceful mango boat safari on the Madu River in the morning. The afternoon is yours to relax on Hikkaduwa’s beaches, try surfing, or join a yoga class.
