We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. When we arrive at the hotel, we will rest and freshen up before we head out for some sightseeing. Our first stop will be a cycle rickshaw tour around the bustling market areas of Old Delhi, then we’ll head over to India Gate, a war memorial monument and popular evening hangout place for locals. In the evening, a pub is close to the hotel if you would like to raise a glass to the start of our tour.
Hotel: Florence Inn
After breakfast, we’ll set off on our journey to Jaipur. The drive will take approximately six hours, with stops for lunch and loo breaks. Upon our arrival in Jaipur, we’ll check into our heritage hotel. You’ll have some leisurely time to unwind and enjoy the pool. Later, we’ll gather on the rooftop for a light-hearted Bollywood dance class, perfect for everyone, regardless of experience. It promises to be a delightful way to immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture of India.
Hotel: Khandela Haveli
Today, we’ll embark on a guided tour of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks, including the stunning Amber Fort and the fascinating Jantar Mantar Observatory. As we explore the vibrant Pink City, we’ll immerse ourselves in its rich history and culture. In the afternoon, we’ll finish our tour at a cafe with a view of the magnificent Hawa Mahal, the perfect spot to take in the city’s beauty. For the evening, if you’d like to continue exploring you can either enjoy a Bollywood movie at the renowned Raj Mandir Cinema or opt for a tuk-tuk tour around the Pink City to see it come alive at night.
Hotel: Khandela Haveli
After breakfast, we’ll set off on a four-hour journey to Ranthambore National Park. As we leave the bustling city behind, you’ll notice the landscape gradually change and become more rugged as we approach the National Park. Upon arrival at our resort, you’ll have some time to relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings. Later in the day, we’ll head out on an evening safari, where, with a bit of luck, we may spot tigers in their natural habitat, along with other fascinating wildlife that call this park home. In the evening, we’ll gather around a cosy bonfire for a music and dance performance by local performers, making for a perfect end to the day.
Hotel: Jungle Cave Resort
Today, we’ll begin with an early start as we return to the National Park on another safari adventure. After returning to the resort, we’ll have breakfast and then the rest of the day is yours to relax and unwind at your own pace, whether by the pool, in the gardens, or simply enjoying the serene surroundings. For those interested, there is an opportunity to visit a Women’s Co-Operative, where local artisans create beautiful crafts that are sold throughout India. This visit offers a chance to learn about the inspiring work of the organisation, supporting women in the community and preserving traditional crafts. You can learn more about the organisation here.
Hotel: Jungle Cave Resort
After breakfast, we’ll set off on a drive to Pushkar, a Holy lakeside town. Our hotel is conveniently located just a ten-minute walk from Pushkar Lake, a serene spot surrounded by shops, rooftop cafés and restaurants. Pushkar is a pilgrimage site, where you’ll often see devotees taking a dip in the holy lake, their vibrant sarees adding splashes of colour to the peaceful setting. You’ll have plenty of free time here to explore at your own pace, whether it’s browsing the local shops, enjoying a quiet moment by the lake, or simply soaking in the unique atmosphere. In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner by the lake at one of the rooftop restaurants.
Hotel: Moti Mahal
Due to the camel fair, we’ll plan our daily itinerary closer to the time but here’s an idea of what we’ll get up to in Pushkar:
Participate in a Pooja Ceremony at Pushkar Lake. People usually perform Shradh or Pitra Pooja at Pushkar Lake to remember their ancestors or loved ones. You don’t have to be Hindu or religious to participate. People usually find this moving. Come with an open mind and see what shows up for you.
Visit the Brahma Temple. Brahma is one of the three main Gods in Hinduism but there is only one Brahma Temple in India.
Watch the Aarti after sunset. An important tradition in Hinduism performed to Holi deities and waterbodies.
Visit the Mela Ground to see music, dance, and other performances.
Optional Activities:
– Yoga Class
– Cooking Class
– Sunrise hike to a temple
– Sunset hike to another temple
Hotel: Moti Mahal
After breakfast, we’ll set off to Jodhpur with a stop on the way at a village homestay. We’ll spend the afternoon here with a family in their traditional village home. We will eat food cooked traditionally on an open fire, dress up in Rajasthani clothing, get henna tattoos, and learn about dhurrie weaving. In the early evening, we will complete the drive to Jodhpur and check into our hotel. Our hotel is a heritage property in the old town and it has a rooftop restaurant with a view of the fort. For dinner, you can either eat at the hotel or another rooftop restaurant, or you can go on an adventure with Paul; leaving the old town and going to a Local restaurant.
Hotel: Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli
Today, we’ll walk from our hotel to visit the majestic Mehrangarh Fort and the serene Jaswant Thada. The afternoon is yours to explore at your leisure, with the option to take participate in our fun blue photo competition around the city’s vibrant streets!
Hotel: Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli
After breakfast, we will drive to Jaisalmer. The journey is around 6 hours but we’ll take plenty of stops on the way. We will be staying in a tent right in the desert. At sunset, we will head out farther into the dunes for a picturesque candle-lit dinner on the dunes. When we return to the camp, we’ll enjoy the live music and dance performances.
Hotel: Camp
After breakfast, we’ll head to Jaisalmer for a tour of the historic fort and Havelis. Jaisalmer is home to the only Living Fort in Asia. In Jaisalmer, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the city, enjoy the views and do some last-minute shopping. Later, we’ll board an overnight train back to Delhi and we’ll have dinner on board.
Hotel: Overnight Train
We’ll have breakfast on board the train and disembark mid-morning. After checking into our hotel, we’ll head out for our final sightseeing adventures; our plans for the day will depend on the timeliness of the train! As our tour comes to a close, we’ll return to the hotel for a farewell dinner and toast to the end of our journey.
Hotel: Florence Inn
Departure day: we will drop you at the airport in time for your flight.
A non-refundable deposit is required to book a place on the tour. The final balance is due 2 months before the tour starts on the 26th of August 2025.
Dr Yamuna - Holistic Therapist2024-12-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing time on Rubys North India Tour this October. As a single female traveller I felt so safe and cared for in the group and loved the choice of destinations, especially the golden temple, the Tag mahal, rishikesh and the river Ganges. The hotel rooms were super comfortable and clean and the food provided was delicious! There was just something so special about doing this as a group rather than solo. 🥰 Thank you so much for a beautiful experience of India 🩷 would definately join your next tour. 🪷 Simeon Perry2024-12-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bhavana Experiences are a tour company unlike all other tour companies that I have known/ travelled with. I have recently been on the S India tour. Bhavana gives you so much more of an authentic view of a country. Led by a guide brought up in the UK, but discovered India in her 20s and fallen in love with the country culture in partnership with an Indian tour leader who has extensive experience in tours and hospitality - a perfect match! The curation of the tour was excellent, great activities every day, a great mix of events, cultural, travel, food, free time to explore on your own. I fell in love this India; cant wait to visit again, and yes, I will go with Bhavana on future tours in Northern India next time. I would so highly recommend this company for tours on India. Great two weeks, would definitely go again helen llewellyn2024-11-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our North India tour with Bhavana was a truly amazing experience. It exceeding all my expectations. Ruby and Paul made every effort to ensure we all enjoyed the wonderful activities, whilst feeling safe and having lots of fun. The variety of sights and experiences was pitched just right and adapted if needed, based on the groups needs. If you’re a first time visitor to India, this is the perfect introduction. I loved it and would highly recommend. Ilene Knapp2024-11-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had such an amazing trip to Northern India with Bhavana Experiences. Ruby and Paul looked after us so well before, during and after our trip and the range of experiences we had over the course of the trip was really varied and all were special in their own way. Too many highlights to mention them all and so many good memories to cherish. If you want to see the real India, it’s fabulous people and culture then I’d highly recommend one of the Bhavana experiences tours. We will definitely be trying one of the other tours 😊 Graham Knapp2024-11-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I had never been on an organised group tour before, preferring to organise tours ourselves for my family and friends. This holiday felt like something we had organised for ourselves and gave just the right amount of planned activities and free time, but be prepared to see an unsanitised version of India. The tour members were really well supported by Ruby and Paul with additional activities planned for people who arrived earlier than the tour start date and/or beyond the end date. We'll certainly be looking to attend another tour. Highly recommended annie simpson2024-11-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bhavana Experiences are a guided tour like no other. With other guided tours you might get to see the country but with Bhavana Experiences you really experience India, from meeting Indian farmers and going into peoples homes, as well as participating behind the scenes at some of India’s biggest temples. Ruby, Paul and their family are lovely, warm people and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. They support from the moment you decide to go till the moment you get back home. They work with other Indian guides and it is clear from the relationship just how highly they are thought of. The trip was inspirational. Thank you. Peta Gelder2024-11-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Why did we choose to go on a tour to India with Bhavana Experiences? Because from the moment we first made contact with Ruby we knew we would be looked after as she was so passionate and caring for from the start to the end as we experienced India in the raw. And we were so correct. If you want to only see the 5 star clean, fake India then this isn't the tour for you. If you want to see the real India then don't delay and book today. In 2 short weeks we travelled by rickshaw, tuk tuk, coach, bus, and train with local people experiencing life just as they did and that is what we wanted. We are waiting eagerly to hear of other tours Ruby and Paul are organising as we will be back for certain. Steve Gelder2024-11-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Can't recommend Bhavana experiences highly enough. The hosts, Ruby and Paul could not be more professional and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure the tour meets expectations for the whole group and each individual too. Organisation and communications are really good. An all round wonderful experience showing the true India. liz Fedders2024-05-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bhavana Experiences is beyond incredible. Ruby and Paul really know what they are doing and ensured my group and i were comfortable and confident everywhere we went. Such amazing experiences and a great itinerary, that was perfectly balanced with down time and go times! I cannot recommend them enough and truly look forward to going back again soon.
